You Know You’re a Handbag-aholic If…

…you have more than 10 designer handbags in your closet! If there are handbags falling down all around the closet, or scrunched up in corners or in drawers, there is a problem.

First, let me explain what a handbagaholic is (my own definition):

A handbagaholic is a person who can’t resist the feel, smell or the look of a high-fashion, top-of-the-line deisgner handbag and helplessly succumbs to the desire to own said bag. Resistance is futile.

Thankfully, there is a wee bit of hope for the seemingly hopeless addicted. There is this wonderful site designed just for those of us who have a problem controlling ourselves around handbags (like I do). I love this novel idea because it satisfies the need to “feel” and “hold”‘ the handbag without the sometimes exorbitant costs that can accompany it. What’s also cool about www.bagborroworsteal.com is the ability for the customer to change their look through their handbag as often as they would like to. Let’s say you have a summer cruise to go on and really want a nice designer bag to go without your outfit. But, after the cruise is over, you won’t need the bag anymore, or, nothing else in your closet “fits” with it. Enter the bag-rental idea. You don’t have to spend the full price to own the bag, but will only pay a partial amount in the form of a rental fee to sport it for a while.

I am definitely a handbag-aholic and I’m trying to get things under control with it now. I just hope I can make through the end of the year sales, clearances and deals on eBay. Or, maybe I can sell some of the bags in my closet now and save enough of my money to buy the new Juicy Girl bag or the winter Coach bag that just came out. Oh boy, this is going to be tough.
