Switching Handbags
Switching handbags seems to be what women did from the handbag era of the 50s and 60s. You know, where they change handbags depending on what they were wearing for the day. My mother and grandmother used to switch handbags every time they changed outfits. I thought this was a peculiar thing to do because it caused so much trouble. After all, switching handbags to match every outfit had to be a tedious, boring thing to do day after day.
In this day and age where everything is faster and quicker, the fashion-forward woman simply does not have time to switch her bag to match her every outfit. It would just take too much time and invariably, something would be forgotten. But, one thing that this changing frequently offered was that the “look” was always tight and in sync with the day.
Do you change purses every day to match your outfit? Does it slow you down, or does it matter to you?
